SSI recipients will get two checks in May — one on May 1 (the check for May 2025) and a second on May 30 (the check for June). For months when the first of the month falls on a federal holiday or a weekend, SSI benefits are issued early — June 1 is a Sunday.

The third and final round of April’s Social Security payments, worth up to $5,108 for the highest-income earners who retire at 70, will go out to retirees today.

The increase stems from the passage of the Social Security Fairness Act, which lifted reductions on 3.2 million public sector workers.
