Two of those teams, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies, faced off on Thursday, and thanks to a 44-point outburst from Anthony Edwards, Minnesota proved victorious, 141-125. That win was enormous for Minnesota, of course, but it has major ramifications all across the standings.

For as inconsistent as the Wolves have been this season, they played like that statement was true in a 141-125 win over the Grizzlies that gives the Wolves a needed boost in the crowded Western Conference playoff race.

While the Eastern Conference's playoff picture is mostly shaping into form, the standings resemble much more chaos in the wild, wild West. With two games remaining for all teams in the Western Conference, just one game separates the No. 4 seed Denver Nuggets from the No. 8 seed.

This will be the first time the Grizzlies will play the Timberwolves without Jaylen Wells in their lineup. Wells, who broke his wrist in Tuesday's game, is usually assigned the top perimeter scorer from the opposing team. He guarded Anthony Edwards in the Grizzlies' previous meetings against Minnesota.
