Airbus struck a deal with budget airline VietJet for up to 150 single-aisle jets at the Paris Airshow on Tuesday, where industry hopes of a return to tariff-free trade were given a boost by U.S. Transport Secretary Sean Duffy.

Airbus (OTCPK:EADSF) (OTCPK:EADSY) continued its strong performance at the Paris Air Show on Tuesday, unveiling a major agreement with VietJet for 100 A321 aircraft, further solidifying its lead over rival Boeing (NYSE:BA) during this year’s event.

Low-cost carrier Vietjet has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) covering a planned new commitment for up to 150 A321neos, 100 of which would be firm orders.
