Sweden international striker traded Sporting CP for Arsenal this summer in one of the most expensive transfer deals of the window and the Portuguese club's manager has spoken

Arsenal has signed Sweden forward Viktor Gyokeres to bring an end to the Premier League club’s years-long search for a prolific goalscorer.

Sheaf has spoken to The Athletic about how “relentless” Gyokeres was in training when the two were teammates at Coventry. The 27-year-old also spoke of how strong Gyokeres was when the two had a coming together in training, and explained how he absolutely despised losing.

Arsenal have reached a full agreement with Sporting CP for the transfer of Viktor Gyokeres. The Premier League side will pay an initial €63.5million (£54.8m; $74.2m) plus €10m in add-ons. Gyokeres has been given permission to travel by Sporting and is expected to undergo his Arsenal medical on Saturday.

Sporting CP boss Rui Borges has no qualms about the club's new strikers stepping up to replace Viktor Gyokeres, who "defined an era" at the club.
