All evacuation orders were lifted Tuesday night after firefighters gained control of an 85-acre blaze propelled by strong Santa Ana winds. The Lilac fire — which began north of West Lilac Road, just west of Interstate 15 — was burning in an area where the relative humidity is very low.

A brush fire that started overnight in the Bonsall area prompted evacuations as it threatened structures in the same area where a 2017 wildfire burned down more than a hundred homes.

Strong Santa Ana winds pushed a wildfire across critically dry terrain in the Bonsall area early Tuesday, charring more than 80 acres and forcing the evacuation of homes in the path of the fire, officials said.
