The Edmonton Oilers overcame two deficits in Minnesota Wednesday to register a 5-3 win, behind the timely goaltending of Calvin Pickard. The Wild shot out to a deserved 2-0 lead as the Oilers got into penalty trouble.

Pickard stopped 31 of 34 shots in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Wild.

Pickard is set to start on the road against Minnesota on Wednesday, according to Tony Brar of Oilers TV.

The Wild got early goals from Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi, and a second period goal from Ryan Hartman, but could not hold their leads, despite testing Oilers goalie Calvin Pickard repeatedly.

Minnesota scored the first two goals, both on the power play, but Connor McDavid rallied the Oilers with two goals and an assist.

Since they entered the NHL in 2000, few teams have had the number of the Edmonton Oilers more than the Minnesota Wild. The Oilers had gone 38-53-4-10 in their 105 games against them ahead of Wednesday’s game,
