Despite last offseason’s speculation that Darius Garland and the Cavs might part ways following their second-round playoff loss to Boston, that was never a serious option—for either side.
Garland, a two-time NBA All-Star, is having an incredible season to help lead Cleveland to the one-seed in the East. Garland is averaging 21.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game with impressive 49.3/42.5/87.1 shooting splits.
Darius Garland is a big reason why the Cleveland Cavaliers have been successful this year. The Cavs guard dished on being an NBA All-Star and joining New Balance.
Garland became the subject of trade rumors in the offseason after a broken jaw and death of his grandmother derailed his season.
Riding high on a seven-game winning streak, the Cavs could be without Darius Garland on the road against the Magic.
During an interview with NBA reporter Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Darius Garland said it took “some grown man conversations” for him and Donovan Mitchell to play together.  Garland and Mitchell are one of the best duos in the NBA.
Cleveland is the best two-way team in the NBA and that’s been especially true during this winning streak. In their last meeting with Miami, the Cavaliers shot 54% from the field, piling on 68 points in the paint, while holding the Heat to 22 points or less in three of the four quarters.
