The NBA All-Star Game reserves were announced Thursday evening. These are big names missing, headlined by Domantas Sabonis and Trae Young.

The Atlanta Hawks need to rebuild. There's a lot of De'Aaron Fox buzz around the San Antonio Spurs, but what about pairing Trae Young and Victor Wembanyama?

Sabonis has been a prototypical snub since he got to Sacramento four years ago. He puts up huge numbers for a team outside of title contention and sometimes gets lost in the fray as a result. He’s actually made more All-NBA teams than All-Star Games in his full seasons with the Kings.

According to Anthony Chiang and Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Heat are "reluctant" to trade for All-Stars with contracts running past 2025-26, at which point Miami can clear north of $80 million in cap space as stars such as Luka Doncic and Trae Young become free agents.

Apart from Herro and Cunningham, the other Eastern Conference reserves that were selected to the All-Star game over Young include Jaylen Brown, Pascal Siakam, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Damien Lillard. The East starters consist of Damian Lillard , Tyrese Haliburton , Jayson Tatum , Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid.

Wembanyama becomes only the fourth Spurs player to make the All-Star Game in his first or second season. The others: Alvin Robertson in 1986, David Robinson in 1990 and 1991, and Tim Duncan in 1998.
