During production on 2021’s In The Heights, the musical’s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and the film’s director Jon M. Chu became close friends. The two are powerhouses in the movie industry, so it’s little surprise that they’ve both had huge films come out at the tail end of the 2024 release schedule.
“ Wicked: Part Two’s” official title, “Wicked: For Good,” prompted some mixed reactions online when it was first revealed in December. Director Jon M. Chu, however, believes the title of the second installment has certainly been changed for the better.
If Hollywood needs some optimism look to Jon M. Chu, who has contributed both a sharp new book and the hit Wicked to advance his mission.
