A Delta Air Lines landing at Wayne County Detroit Metropolitan Airport was more problematic than anticipated after the pilot was forced to abort an attempt to land. The plane did have a safe landing on the second attempt. According to a statement from the airline, Delta flight 1648 arrived at Metro Airport Thursday evening from Denver.
A Southwest Airlines flight was forced to perform a go-around maneuver at Chicago Midway International Airport when a private jet crossed its path on the runway Tuesday morning.
Pilot and former air traffic controller Rob Mark said what the Southwest pilot did was a textbook "perfect go-around."
