Things took a dramatic turn for the worse when a window cleaning operation in New York City was hit by severe turbulence from strong winds.

First responders were called to 25 Columbus Circle about 9:47 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about the window washers trapped on the side of the building by the 78th floor.

Crews had to break windows 78 floors above street level to help get the workers off the scaffolding and pull them to safety.
