Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin announced on Wednesday evening that the club has recalled forward Linus Karlsson and defenceman Elias Pettersson from their AHL affiliate, Abbotsford Canucks.

The team announced that defenceman Noah Juulsen has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 14. In a corresponding move, defenceman Elias Pettersson and forward Linus Karlsson have bene recalled from AHL Abbotsford.

The Edmonton Oilers will be without suspended superstar Connor McDavid when they host the struggling Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night in the second game between the Pacific Division rivals in less than a week.

Rises to NHL

Juulsen (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, retroactive to Jan. 14. Juulsen's move to IR opened a roster spot for a call-up to replenish the Canucks' defensive depth, with Elias Pettersson coming up from AHL Abbotsford.
