Arrowhead Golf Course is celebrating its 50th anniversary this month, but you won’t see much fanfare, just a steady stream of golf carts tooling along the well-manicured grounds.

If the 14th doesn’t do it for you, some other hole at Arrowhead will. It could be No. 3, where playing the wrong club sent my ball up onto one of those outcroppings and disappeared forever.

Arrowhead covers about 105 acres in the southwest section of North Canton. The city purchased the facility, which includes a golf course, swimming pool and clubhouse, for $4.2 million in 2003.
