Ahead of Earth Day on Tuesday, Griffith Park has unveiled a new trail system for the community to enjoy, which includes newly mapped beginner-friendly loops.

Griffith Observatory sits on the south face of Mount Hollywood and overlooks the Los Angeles basin. Its location gives visitors impressive views of the surrounding area, which many rave about.

The shortest trails are a bit under 2 miles, while the "challenging hikes" are closer to 9 miles, if that's more your thing.

Firefighters said the helicopter crew brought the hiker to a hospital that had the antivenom for the snake bite.
