A Superior man was arrested Sunday after police say he tried to fire a gun at a woman.

A man was visiting the Beaver Dam quarry in County on Sunday with his family when he said he heard a commotion and then saw a swimmer struggling in the water.

Appleton police arrested a man Aug. 16 in connection with a gunshot fired on the 900 block of West Wisconsin Avenue.

A possible motive for the shooting remains under investigation, but authorities have said it appears to be gang-related.
