The i9-9900K is a “3.6GHz” chip, but it turbos up to 5GHz. That turbo is only supposed to apply to one or two cores at a time, but you can easily get the chip running at that speed across all ...
That was the case on October 26. But as of Friday, November 9, the Core i9-9900K is finally available -- at price points that kill our original recommendations, elasticity or not.
The 9th gen makes this a bit more flexible; while it comes with a standard clock speed of 3.6Ghz, the i9-9900K can bump one processor core to 5GHz, four cores to 4.8GHz, and all eight to 4.6GHz.
The i9-9900K gets a boost to 5GHz on two of the cores and up to 4.7GHz on all. The i7-9700K, however, is very close -- it will boost to 4.9GHz on a single core (4.8GHz on two), or 4.6GHz on all cores.
Several results have been posted, three of which I've graphed here against results for the Core i9-9900K that are easily searchable in the database here. In the processor arithmetic benchmark ...
