Project Kuiper is planning to take a major step forward tonight with its first full-scale satellite launch. Amazon is planning to launch 27 low-Earth orbit satellites this evening as part of Project Kuiper.

Amazon Kuiper is sending its first satellites into space six years after starting the project. The company is trying to take on Starlink, owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX, which has been on the market since 2019.

The launch was delayed six times on Wednesday night before United Launch Alliance officials finally called a scrub.

Amazon’s Project Kuiper is set to launch its first mission, which is to send 27 satellites into orbit. Liftoff is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
