The Vermont Agency of Transportation said a portion of Vermont Route 108, more commonly known as Smugglers Notch Road, was closed for three hours due to a stuck commercial vehicle.
The steep and twisty road to Vermont's Smugglers' Notch is world famous for trapping trucks and buses in its narrow, rocky passages. The state says it may have finally solved the problem.
But let's hope it does. "Scenic VT-108 (Smugglers Notch or The Notch Road) is OPEN for the 2024 season as of 12:00 PM on May 14, 2024," Vermont's Agency of Transportation announced on Tuesday.
