John Lee, of Sacramento, was identified as the suspect. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and negligent discharge of a gun.

Both men were turkey hunting separately when the fatal shooting happened in a Sutter County wildlife area, authorities said.

The 80-year-old suspect fired his shotgun into the brush, hoping to hit a turkey. Deputies say he shot a man in the head.
