About a third of state lawmakers are women, garnering 49 out of 140 seats. And of those female legislators, about two dozen have kids under 18, ranging from newborns to teens.

A House subcommittee ‘passed by’ the casino bill at its last scheduled meeting of the session. But at least in theory, the bill could come back to life.

The bill to authorize the creation of a casino in Fairfax County was effectively halted for the regular session in the Virginia House.
