Oscar-Winning lyricist Alan Bergman, who with his wife Marilyn wrote the words for some of Barbra Streisand’s best-known hits as well as her 1983 film “Yentl,” died Thursday at his home in Los Angeles.

With his wife, Marilyn, he wrote the words to memorable TV theme songs and the Oscar-winning “The Way We Were” and “The Windmills of Your Mind.”

Alan Bergman, the Oscar-winning lyricist who teamed with his wife, Marilyn, for an enduring and loving partnership that produced such old-fashioned hits as “How Do You Keep the Music Playing?,” “It Might Be You” and the classic “The Way We Were,
