Bright Angel, South Kaibab and North Kaibab trails are all closed. The gas leak is at Roaring Springs, which is the water source for all canyon facilities.

A chlorine gas leak in the North Rim forced Grand Canyon National Park officials to close three trail heads until further notice.

The National Park Service said on Wednesday evening that inner canyon corridor trails at the Grand Canyon were closed due to a chlorine gas leak at Roaring Springs. On Thursday, the leak was stabilized and those inner canyon trails reopened, but some closures remained.

Several popular trails in Grand Canyon National Park are closed indefinitely due to a chlorine leak in the Roaring Springs area on the North Rim.
