President Donald Trump's increased tariffs on U.S. imports from foreign countries could reduce the national deficit by $4 trillion over the next decade, the Congressional Budget Office estimated on Friday.

The CBO (Congressional Budget Office) projecst that increases in tariffs implemented during the period from January 6, 2025, to August 19 will decrease

The $4 trillion figure is notably higher than previous CBO estimates because of recent changes to tariffs, according to the office.
