Prince William will attend the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday after his father, King Charles III, gave a heartfelt tribute to the late pope.

Students and faculty from Roncalli High School will attend Pope Francis's viewing and funeral in Italy, initially planned as a pilgrimage to witness the canonization of Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old saint who died of leukemia.

Francis did away with that sort of viewing. Instead, a procession brought his coffin on Wednesday directly to St. Peter’s Basilica, where a public viewing is taking place. Francis’ body, dressed in papal vestments, his head covered with a white bishop’s miter, is lying in state to allow tens of thousands of mourners to bid farewell.
