Wright retired from coaching in 2022 after reaching his fourth Final Four at Villanova. When he retired, he did leave the door open a smidge to perhaps one day coach in the NBA.

Wright, 60, took over at Villanova in 2001 after spending seven seasons as the head coach at Hofstra. He slowly built the Wildcats into one of the best programs in college basketball.
