James Green, Judy's husband, also released a statement Tuesday evening that read: "As the community is aware, my wife, Dr. Judith Green, passed this afternoon after suffering a heart attack.

Webb said Green died Tuesday after being taken off life support. Mayor Greg Fischer issued a statement on Green's passing. "Judy had a good heart and she loved her community,” Fischer said.

Judy Green's resignation is not official until the next council meeting in two weeks. 'She is technically still in office,' said council court spokesman Steve Haag.
