Mark Pope talks about the NCAA champ from Florida who is transferring to Kentucky
He committed to Kentucky out of the transfer portal on April 21. Originally a three-star recruit in the 2022 high school recruiting class, Aberdeen committed to play at Florida when Mike White was still the Gators’ head coach. White is now the head coach at Georgia.
Kentucky's Mark Pope Loses Former Four-Star Recruit After Freshman Season
Kentucky has since reloaded at the guard position through the transfer portal. The two most recent additions are Denzel Aberdeen from Florida and Jaland Lowe from Pittsburgh, who averaged 16.8 points per game last season. They join Kam Williams, a guard from Tulane, as part of the new backcourt rotation.
