Officials in Kerr County say that the body of a missing flood victim has been found, leaving only two people missing after the July 4 flood.

The data – derived from call logs provided by the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office and the Kerrville Police Department – offers a new look at how the catastrophic Independence Day flooding turned into the county’s deadliest disaster in recent years, though it leaves many unanswered questions.

The new figure was a significant decline from 97 just days ago. The death toll in the county remained the same, and officials said many of the missing were reported safe.
