A Smryna patrol officer has been charged with nearly 20 counts of forging doctors' notes to use for student absences.
The charges come after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Smyrna Police Department investigated the forgery of documents provided to Rutherford County Schools.
The investigation revealed that while serving as a patrol officer, the accused, 37-year-old Lindsy Nicole Clemons, managed to forge multiple doctors' notes to account for student absences.
