Gov. Maura Healey has announced a series of measures to enhance safety at assisted living facilities across the state after a deadly fire tore through the Gabriel House last week.

Brenda Cropper, 66, had been hospitalized in critical condition since Sunday’s fire at the Gabriel House on Oliver Street.

The state is launching a safety initiative to ensure Massachusetts’ more than 250 assisted living facilities are up to code.
