Mike Patrick, the long-time play-by-play announcer for ESPN's Sunday Night Football, has died. He was 80. A native of Clarksburg, West Virginia, Patrick handled the NFL Sunday night game for 18 years,

He did the cable network’s play-by-play for college basketball, football and baseball games, but his most important assignment was “Sunday Night Football.”

The versatile play-by-play man was a George Washington University alum and spent several years at D.C. station WJLA before joining ESPN in 1982.
