The Spanish government has unilaterally cancelled a contract to purchase ammunition rounds for its police force from an Israeli firm, a government source said on Thursday, ceding to pressure from its hard-left junior coalition partner Sumar.

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah, on Friday, called the now-suspended Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan the “most unfair document” for the people of the union territory, saying it never had their support.

It could prompt China to block the Brahmaputra River, which supplies around 30 percent of India’s fresh water and about 44 percent of its total hydropower potential.
