Interest rates for credit cards to mortgages have jumped since the Fed began fighting inflation in 2022. Here's where experts think rates are headed.

The Federal Reserve once again held interest rates steady at Wednesday's meeting, but that doesn't mean your card's interest rate can't change. There are other things -- like economic uncertainty and the potential impact of tariffs -- that could impact your credit card's APR.

"I don’t see an urgency to adjust rates," said Susan M. Collins, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. "We do not have that sustained price stability that I’m looking for."
