The San Francisco 49ers and quarterback Brock Purdy have made "some progress" in contract extension negotiations, according to Michael Silver of The Athletic. Per Silver, Purdy's extension "will likely" be worth over $50 million per year.

Purdy managed to suit up in 15 games for the 49ers in 2024, throwing for 3,864 yards and 20 touchdowns. He led San Francisco all the way to the Super Bowl the year before, which also saw him earn the first Pro Bowl selection of his career.
