Just as expected, Tyler Shough led the Saints' first-team offense on Day 2. He threw the day's only touchdown pass, too. But he still has work to do.

The New Orleans Saints begin training camp with a wide-open quarterback competition between Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler, and major questions surrounding Alvin Kamara’s role and Chris Olave’s health as they enter a full rebuild.

The Saints made their interest apparent at Louisville’s pro day in March. Quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien took Shough out for lunch, followed by what Shough said was “extensive board work” in a meeting with coach Kellen Moore and the rest of the Saints contingent on the trip. They later hosted him for a pre-draft visit.
