For over 2 decades, the 7th Judicial Circuit’s problem-solving courts have played a critical role in the community by restoring lives, strengthening families and enhancing community safety.

The 7th Judicial Circuit, which spans Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns and Volusia counties, has several problem-solving courts, including drug, veterans and DUI courts.

He also presided over the Flagler County drug court. Perkins served as chief judge of the 7th Judicial Circuit from July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2017.

Circuit judges have general jurisdiction over all cases while associate judges have limited jurisdiction, except by special assignment.

Gusinksy has served as a circuit court judge in the Seventh Judicial Circuit since 2013, when Gov. Dennis Daugaard appointed him. He previously worked as an assistant U.S. attorney from 2007 to 2013.

Six finalists out of only nine applicants were selected for an open circuit judge seat in the 7 th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, which covers Volusia, Flagler, St. Johns and Putnam counites.

All 4 superintendents and the 7th Circuit state attorney got together a year ago to develop this new campaign. They hope to become a model for the rest of the state.
