Save the Wave Tackle Owner Andrew Crane said the idea started as a class project back when he attended Texas A&M University Corpus Christi.

The two-day event is free and open to the public. Seating is available on the seawall steps. A DJ and a variety of food trucks will also be on site.

Swimmers were advised to stay out of the water in some parts of Texas, and boaters were impacted along the entire coast.
