Carlos Alcaraz stormed into his first Masters final in 13 months when he beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 7-6(2) 6-4 in Monte Carlo on Saturday, but not before his Spanish compatriot saved five match points in a gruelling encounter.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is through to the Monte Carlo Masters quarter-final. The Spaniard faced the 5th seed Jack Draper in the third round and prevailed 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 in two hours and 46 minutes for a notable win and a place in the last eight.

Carlos Alcaraz needed six match points to put away Spanish compatriot Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 7-6 (2), 6-4 on Saturday and reach the final of the Monte Carlo Masters.
