For the third week in a row, initial jobless claims declined in Florida. The U.S. Department of Labor ( DOL) report for the week ending March 29 showed that there were 5,402 new unemployment claims.
Yet Florida has seen a steady rise in child labor violations. In 2023, the state had 209 child labor violations, the second highest in 15 years, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
