Elsmere has selected its new mayor in a succession line dictated by town charter less than a week after a sudden resignation.

Eric Thompson resigned suddenly as Mayor of Elsmere at Thursday's Town Council meeting. Thompson had been Mayor for several years. The reasons for his decision appeared a bit murky.
