An agreement for a ceasefire to end the ongoing war in Gaza is “very close,” according to a key mediator for the negotiations in Doha. Speaking at a news conference, Qatari foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari has said negotiations are in their "final stages" and potential stumbling blocks have been "addressed.

Hamas has accepted a draft agreement for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip whilst Israel insists details are still being finalised
