Morse had converted the alphabet into a system of dots and dashes to send telegraph messages over land lines. European nations revised the code in 1851 and it gained widespread acceptance.
After less than four hours of feeling every letter, everyone was challenged to type the alphabet in Morse code in a final test. The control group was accurate only half the time.
It was first created during the 1830s by Samuel F.B. Morse but was later improved in 1851 to create the simpler, more precise International Morse Code system.
