Iranian state television has reported a fire and a massive explosion rocked a port in southern Iran on Saturday, injuring at least 516 people.

Dozens of people have been injured following a massive explosion and fire at the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, more than 1,000km (620 miles) south of capital Tehran, according to state media.

The explosion and fire was purportedly linked to a shipment of a chemical ingredient used to make missile propellant.
