Mike Martin has been the director of scouting advancement for the Detroit Lions for the past four years.

The Lions are dealing with another departure. Their director of scouting advancement is heading to South Bend to be Notre Dame's general manager.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) -Notre Dame has reportedly hired a new general manager with NFL experience for its football program. ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported that coach Marcus Freeman and the Notre Dame administration have tabbed Mike Martin of the Detroit Lions for the position. Several other news outlets are also reporting the hire.
