Sony is once again shaking up its leadership ranks. Effective April 1, Hideaki Nishino will be president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). Nishino was appointed CEO of the division's Platform Business Group last year.

Hiroki Totoki is now the CEO of Sony Corporation, as Hideaki Nishino is now the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Sony Interactive Entertainment, owner of the PlayStation brand, announces a new CEO as its parent organization also undergoes restructuring.

Last month, Sony sprung a surprise as the company rolled out new classic themes for the PS5 to honor PlayStation's 30th anniversary. Unfortunately, that was always planned as a limited-time thing, and that time ends tomorrow, January 31.

Those retro-tinged PS5 themes have been a resounding hit. They have been such a hit that Sony just announced it’s bringing them back in the future.

PlayStation removes limited-time PS5 legacy themes but plans their return later this year. Fans question the decision as no new themes are planned.
