Yuki Tsunoda has conceded an "extreme" set-up direction at the Japanese Grand Prix "didn't work" but insisted Max Verstappen's own decisions help. The Japanese driver is the latest to go up against Verstappen in a Red Bull having been promoted in place of Liam Lawson after just two races this season.

Yuki Tsunoda admitted it was “incredible” how Max Verstappen could “cope” with his setup choices after trying them on the Red Bull simulator. Verstappen returned to winning ways at Suzuka with a faultless display from pole position.

In his first public appearance since his Red Bull Formula 1 promotion, Yuki Tsunoda isn't shying away from lofty ambitions at his home race in Suzuka.
