Reports indicate that Remington-Keene rifles were in use on the U.S.S. Trenton at least as late as 1887 and, as cited above, the rifles remained on board the U.S.S. Michigan until at least late 1888.
When the stories ended that day, Uncle Lawrence gave me a .22-cal. 1873 Remington No. 4 Rolling Block. It was my first gun, and since that day many rabbits and squirrels have come to their end.
