The Santa Cruz Wharf collapse Monday came about a year after the Seacliff State Beach pier just down the coast was battered beyond repair by a heavy winter storm.

Work on Flagler Beach Pier could be delayed by 60 days. Officials don't think DOGE cuts will affect FEMA's 75% in funding. The pier won't be ready for July 4, 2026, as originally expected.

The now-gone Rainbo Pier — spelled without the “w” — was built in 1924 and spanned 930 feet over the ocean from the beach, roughly where North Ocean Boulevard meets Worth Avenue.

The Juno Beach Pier is a popular fishing destination that extends 990 feet into the ocean. Loggerhead Marinelife Center, which manages the pier, offers a live view of the pier on its website.
