A cluster of severe storms has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a severe thunderstorm watch for areas ahead of the thunderstorms. The watch, which is in effect until 7 p.m., does not include the Twin Cities but it does include St. Cloud, Little Falls, Brainerd, Monticello, Cokato and Cambridge .
A severe thunderstorm warning was released by the NWS Raleigh NC on Sunday at 3:28 p.m. in effect until 4:15 p.m. The warning is for Chatham, Lee, Moore and Randolph counties.
Strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon will be followed by a strong cold front tonight, and widespread rain into the overnight hours.

The Storm Prediction Center includes the southeast half of the KCRG-TV9 viewing area in a Slight Risk for severe storms on Tuesday. The primary threat will be damaging wind gusts, though we cannot fully rule out an isolated incidence of hail or a tornado.
