Apple is giving its mask-wearing emoji an update: The keyboard character donning a medical face mask will be smiling under the face covering rather than frowning, according to the Emojipedia blog.

Apple has quietly updated its “Face with Medical Mask” emoji with friendlier eyes, eyebrows, and rosy cheeks. It appears to be Apple’s “Smiling Face” emoji, with a mask on top.

Samsung has beaten Apple to the punch, updating its mask emoji in March to have more cheerful looking eyes. Apple iOS 14.2 is currently in beta, and the company is yet to announce a release date.
